Summary
The Foulds laboratory is a dedicated translational and molecular oncology research program, rich with individual expertise and collaborative studies, which focuses on understanding mechanisms of endocrine therapy and CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance and generating new and optimizing current treatment strategies for ER+ breast cancer patients. In order to develop precision diagnostics, the lab is interested in delineating mechanisms of resistance to standard-of-care therapeutics and metastasis for mainly ER+ breast cancers with some work on triple-negative breast cancers. The successful applicant is expected to carry out independent experiments (after any needed hands-on training) and work in collaboration with other members of the laboratory. Selected methodologies include protein, RNA, and DNA isolation from cancer cells, chromatin immunoprecipitation, RNA-sequencing, immunoblotting, cell culture, and ex vivo patient-derived xenograft (PDX) organoid culture as desirable. The laboratory’s work involves breast cancer cell lines and state-of-the-art PDX mouse models. Cross-training and transparency among the team is highly encouraged and practiced.
