Description
Texas Native Seeds (TNS) is a non-profit research and development program that works to enable native plant restoration across Texas. Our focal areas include developing commercially available, locally adapted native seed sources for all areas of Texas, conducting applied restoration research to develop practical restoration methods, and disseminating findings and conducting educational activities in support of the restoration and conservation of native plant communities. TNS is structured as a network of 6 collabrative regional projects to serve the diverse ecoregions and restoration needs of the state. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follows policies, processes, and procedures to perform job duties in a safe manner at all times. Cleans seed, preforms germination test, and records findings. Plant, water, and maintain greenhouse as needed. Collects, germinates, propagates, and harvests native plant seed. Establishes and maintains native plant fields. Collects samples and measurement data from experiments. Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of field trials. Collects and compiles data. Computes, quantitates, and extends projections. Assembles and operates technical equipment. Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the work shift. Assists senior staff members in conducting major field experiments and consults in developing procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Education - High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience - Three years of related experience. Ability to - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Physical Requirements - Ability to lift moderately heavy objects. Ability to exert heavy force.
