Position Highlights

This position involves an epidemiological project examining psychosocial stress and 911 calls for cardiac arrests in NYC. Analyses will involve R programming and creating online dashboards. The candidate will produce a scientific manuscript during the position period.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Compile open datasets in support of epidemiological research, specifically metric of psychosocial stress (game excitability derived from sports games) and its association with risk of 911 calls for cardiac arrests in NYC.
  • Participate in the examination and analysis of the data.
  • Under supervision, assist the project manager in creating clear and informative data visualizations, plots, and charts to help researchers understand and present their findings effectively.
  • Collaborate with researchers to develop and maintain R scripts and workflows to streamline data analysis processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the documentation and data analysis processes, methodologies, and code to ensure transparency and reproducibility of results.
  • Contribute to the publication of a scientific manuscript.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of R programming.
  • Knowledge of big data analytics.
  • Knowledge of epidemiology.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
