JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LABORATORY OF DR. LUIGI RACIOPPI
DIVISION OF HEMATOLOGIC MALIGNANCIES AND CELLULAR THERAPY
Handling, breeding and maintaining mice in an established colony. Animal husbandry skills, animal identification and tracking (ear punch); animal sexing; use of various techniques to genotype mice. Harvesting bone marrow and spleens from mice for cell culture. Irradiation of mice. Injection of mice (IV, retro-orbital, intraperitoneal) with cellular materials and/or various compounds. Tumor implantation and tumor monitoring.
Mice genotyping and gene expression analysis (PCR and qPCR)
Maintain accurate, up-to-date and well-documented records of procedures performed (lab notebook, instrument logs, etc) and method development
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
Experience
None required above education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
