Summary
A Research Technician II position is available at the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy within the Texas Children’s Cancer Center. This position will be part of an interdisciplinary team of laboratory and clinical investigators developing novel forms of cancer immunotherapy. The Research Technician will perform PBMC isolation, magnetic cell sorting, gene transduction, cell expansion, phenotypic and functional characterization using flow cytometry, cytotoxicity, and Luminex assays.
Job Duties
- Processes peripheral blood, isolates mononuclear cells and specific cell subsets.
- Performs magnetic cell sorting.
- Performs numeric expansion of lymphocytes in culture.
- Performs retroviral transduction of cultured cells.
- Performs immunoflourescent staining and runs flow cytometry analysis.
- Analyses flow cytometry data using FlowJo and DIVA software.
- Measures cytokine production using ELISA or Luminex assays.
- Measures cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
- Documents results of experiments and prepare reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology or a related field.
- Experience with aseptic techniques, human cell expansions.
