Position Description:
The Department of Surgery Immuno-Oncology is seeking a full-time lab technician to participate in an immuno-oncology project. The individual will be responsible for processing blood and tissue samples from human subjects for IRB-approved protocols. Will also perform procedures such as immune cell isolation, culturing, and in vitro functional tests following the tissue collection. May also help other lab staff working on animal (mice) management including collecting and processing tissues and subsequent biological and immunological analysis of the samples.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Data collection and data management/organization.
- Analyze and summarize experimental results and report the results to the Supervisor.
Flexibility in scheduling may occasionally be required to accommodate experimental timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong background in cell biology and immunology and previous laboratory experience are preferred.
- Specific techniques include PCR, IHC, ELISA, and flow cytometry. Completion of mandatory laboratory and safety training.
Completion of mandatory laboratory and safety training is required upon hire.
Target Compensation Maximum: $32.98
Target Compensation Minimum: $21.99
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
