Position Summary
This position is for a full-time research technician (with benefits) to work on research project examining the neural and psychological causes of problems with motivation in individuals with psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Testing and scanning participants using task-based functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and behavioral/cognitive/computerized testing
  • Helps with preprocessing and quality control of imaging and behavioral data, including data entry.
  • Helps with recruitment of participants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience equaling four years (Prior research experience in a psychology research lab, though relevant coursework or research in related fields might count toward experience) or Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Expertise with SPSS and/or R statistical programs, Excel, and web programming (e.g., Javascript, Python).
  • Previous experience working with patient populations in either
  • Strong organizational, and planning skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must get along well with graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students working as research assistants within the lab.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative on array of projects and duties each day.
  • Good computer skills (e.g., knowledge or potential to learn SPSS, R, Qualtrics, Excel, Powerpoint)

Salary Range
$15.30 - $20.48 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
