Position Highlights

The Cusanovich Lab in the UArizona Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidates for a part time Research Technician I. Dr. Cusanovich's NIH-funded research focuses on understanding how the human genome regulates itself to bring about all of the cellular diversity present in the human body. In addition, Dr. Cusanovich is interested in how genetic variation and environmental exposures in human populations impact that regulation and sometimes lead to complex disease. The ideal candidate will possess a cell/molecular skill set with the drive required to research complex disease.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, glassware, and solutions used for research.
  • Assists PI and other laboratory staff with cell culture and setting up experiments. 
  • Collaborate on experiments using basic basic or routine research techniques following the instructions, procedures, and guidance from PI or other senior laboratory staff.
  • Assists the PI in the preparation of technical reports and protocols.
  • Records results of studies, maintains experimental data, analyzes data, and tracks results.
  • Provides routine administrative support to research staff on projects.
  • Coordinate and order lab supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with University regulations and trainings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior research experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences.
