Position Summary
The Research Technician will be responsible for assisting with duties related to the lab’s ongoing community engagement efforts. The RT will be asked to serve as liaison for communication between the lab and the community partners, and assist with creating/maintaining the website for the initiative. The RT also will be asked to help collect data related to the community engagement initiative, through conducting interviews, administering surveys, and holding focus groups. This is a benefits eligible, part-time position – 20-25 hours per week.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate between lab and community partners.
  • Assist with website creation and other online/offline publicity.
  • Individual and group meetings with the lab.
  • Survey and interview development, and administration.
  • Travel and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations throughout St. Louis city and county.

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in psychology or neuroscience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling four years.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to make initial decisions about issues that arise for the lab and community partners.
  • Website management skills.
  • Expertise with SPSS and/or R statistical programs, Excel, and web programming (e.g., Javascript, Python).
  • Strong organizational, and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to get along well with graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students working as research assistants within the lab.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative on array of projects and duties each day.
  • Good computer skills (e.g., knowledge or potential to learn SPSS, R, Qualtrics, Excel, Powerpoint).


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Salary Range
$16.21 - $21.69 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
