Job Summary
Under general supervision, the research technician will set up and perform research experiments in the Glover Lab at Caltech.
Essential Job Duties
  • Set up, operate, and ensure cleanliness of laboratory equipment
  • Perform screening, feeding passaging, harvesting and cryopreservation of cells
  • Create stable transgene and genome edited cell populations and cell lines
  • Perform basic calculations; record, analyze and evaluate data
  • Prepare media, buffers, and solutions for cell cultures
  • Maintain and organize workspace
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biochemistry, with up to 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with students and all levels of staff
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess a high level of initiative
