About this Opportunity	The Center for Medical Education welcomes applications for a Research Technician opportunity. Join our team to study glucose/glycogen metabolism in health and disease using genetically modified mouse models.

Length of Assignment	Full-Time At-Will
Position Function	Provide support to the Principal Investigator using a multidisciplinary approach to study glucose metabolism in transgenic and knockout mice.
Minimum Education	Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a biological science from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
Minimum Experience	Experience working in a laboratory.
Minimum Other	Ability to adhere to a protocol, meet deadlines requested by Principal Investigator; be highly motivated and work well independently; willingness to handle mice.
Authorization to work in the US	Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education	Master’s degree in a biological science.
Preferred Experience	Experience with mouse husbandry, mouse behavior, microscopy; additional years of related experience.
Preferred Other
Pre-Employment Screening	Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Job Duty	Supervise and train undergraduate and graduate students.

Job Duty	Apply the following techniques in the laboratory: polymerase chain reaction; tissue and fluid metabolite measurements; Western blotting; mouse husbandry; histology; electron and confocal microscopy; mouse behavioral analysis; enzyme activity measurements.

Job Duty	Collect data; maintain accurate laboratory notebook and other records.

Job Duty	Order supplies; monitor inventory of mice, reagents, and disposables; cleaning instruments and glassware; maintain laboratory instruments.
