POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

A research technician B position is available in the Stengel lab. The role involves providing technical assistance to graduate and postdoctoral trainees and lab ordering and organization.

Responsibilities include: Laboratory work with ongoing training will include: animal colony maintenance, genotyping, cell culture, immunoblotting, fluorescence microscopy, lab ordering and organization.

The person will:

  • Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
  • Require occasional guidance;
  • Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
  • Rarely modify technical procedures;
  • Rarely train other lab members;
  • Rarely guide other lab members;
  • A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
  • Occasionally analyze data;
  • Rarely interpret data;
  • Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors in a Related Science required or equivalent skills and experience required.
  • 0-2 years experience required.
  • Organizational skills, detailed oriented, record keeping and initiative required.
