Summary

Prof. Felix Warneken, Director of the Social Minds Lab at the Department of Psychology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, is hiring a full-time (100% effort, 40 hrs/wk) Research Technician Associate to coordinate and conduct research on cooperation in young children.  The position entails subject recruitment and scheduling, testing in the lab, at schools, museums, and online, using advanced video coding technology, and active participation in research.  The position also requires supervising undergraduate assistants in research and working closely with graduate students and postdocs.  For more information on Prof. Warneken's research and the Social Minds Lab, please visit this website: https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/warneken/

Responsibilities*
  • Active research; Preparing and running child studies; Video coding
  • Administrative tasks; Purchases; IRB protocols; Grant reports
  • Recruitment and supervision of Assistants in Research
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure; Recruitment of families; Maintaining a child database; Communications with other labs

Required Qualifications*
  • High school diploma or Associate's degree
  • At least 1 year of research experience

Desired Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Ability to use or learn essential software for research, including Microsoft Office, the behavioral coding software INTERACT, and the data management software FileMakerPro, and video editing.
  • Experience working with parents and children.

Additional Information

The salary range is $31,200 to $33,000. Please note a higher salary may be offered based on equity and the selected candidate's experience. This is a 12-month term-limited position with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is May 2024.
