THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITON

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   Under the direction of research faculty in Ophthalmology, the Research Technician 2 works to better understand the pathology of retinal degenerative diseases using in vitro and in vivo models.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Performs database generation and mining of existing databases.
  • Prepares tissue samples for analysis.
  • Performs paraffin embedding and sectioning.
  • Performs plastic embedding and sectioning.
  • Assists with manuscript preparation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    •  



    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: OR a combination of education and work experience to equal (8) years. 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience with database analysis.
    • Knowledge of ophthalmic diseases and health.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
