Position Summary
Various lab administrative and research technician responsibilities including coordinating child participant recruitment and data collection for studies of social cognitive development. Position might include supervision of undergraduate research assistants involved in laboratory testing of child participants, testing child participants, and aiding in maintaining a project database. This is a part time, non-benefits eligible position.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with testing study participants.
  • Supervise undergraduate research assistants involved in testing participants in our laboratory in the Somers Family Building and at off-site test locations including the Saint Louis Science Center and local childcare centers/schools.
  • Assist with recruitment of child participants and maintaining database of families interested in participating in research with their children.
  • Communicate with the Institutional Review Board as necessary.
  • Assist with data organization, storage, and statistical analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience equaling two years in related field or Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience with digital cameras and computerized testing.
  • Experience with Qualtrics and/or other online experiment program(s).
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Adobe, Powerpoint/Keynote and related programs.
  • Experience with SPSS, R, or other statistical programs.
  • Experience conducting research with children preferred, but not required.
  • Basic computer skills (word processing, excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including with children, parents, teachers, and directors.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Salary Range

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
