Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V in the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
A research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Valvezan at the Rutgers University Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM). The Valvezan Lab studies the complex interplay between signaling pathways and metabolic networks in cell growth and cancer, with emphasis on exploiting metabolic vulnerabilities to develop new therapeutic approaches. The candidate will pursue their own independent research project, working at the interface of basic and translational science. This position is an excellent training opportunity for those aspiring to pursue careers in science and/or medicine.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Carry out an independent research project studying signaling and/or metabolism in cell growth and cancer.
  • Keep detailed records of procedures and experiments. Compile data and present findings.
  • Assist with ordering, shipping, receiving, and inventory.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking, seeing, and hearing. Manual dexterity and vision sufficient for standard laboratory operations including pipetting and use of microscopes.  
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:  
Laboratory environment.  Universal precautions are mandatory.
