Position Overview
Marquette University’s Raynor Library seeks an energetic, collaborative, and service-focused librarian to support student success and faculty research related to the field of business administration. The position is an exciting opportunity for a recent grad or early-career librarian to join the library’s Research, Teaching, and Learning Team. This librarian serves as the library liaison to Marquette’s College of Business Administration and is responsible for research consultations, instruction, collection management, and outreach as the subject liaison for the college. The successful candidate is aware of library resources and practices related to Business and enthusiastic about faculty outreach and student learning.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with faculty and students that support all stages of their research.
  • Partner with faculty and the library acquisitions team to select, manage, and evaluate relevant library collections areas, ensuring that resources support current student and faculty academic and research needs.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
  • Teach students information literacy skills, including how to find and use relevant resources.
  • Create instructional materials in various formats for students and faculty to use online.
  • Develop familiarity with digital approaches to research and scholarship used by faculty and students in the College of Business Administration.
  • Provide in-person and virtual reference support, including occasional evening hours.
  • Communicate regularly with the assigned departments about relevant news, services, resources, and programming of interest to their faculty and students.
  • Contribute to and learn from the field of librarianship through local, state, and national professional organizations, presentations, and publications.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • MLS from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Understanding of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education
  • Ability to design and teach library information literacy sessions, including the development of learning outcomes and measurable assessments
  • Interest in the field of business administration
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity and an ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
  • Strong commitment to patron service and improving the user experience
  • A growth mindset and commitment to professional development
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • College coursework or experience in a business field appropriate to the position.
  • Experience working in an academic library, including internship or practicum experience.
  • Experience teaching information literacy.
  • Experience with collection management.
