Summary of Duties:

WSU Vancouver is hiring two Research Study Assistants.

The Research Assistants will provide support for research projects to develop and test a novel coding system of client language during brief alcohol interventions, applying knowledge and skills that are specific to the study under general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and applicable senior research coordinator staff (supervisor).

The Research Assistants will primarily spend their time listening to and coding clinical interactions of young adult drinkers.

Additional duties may include: managing and cleaning data, conducting literature reviews, attending team meetings, and completing other study-related tasks.


Required Qualifications:

Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Experience with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, and Access.


Demonstrated ability with strong written/oral communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work in-dependently and as part of a team on multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working in a research environment.
Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team on multiple projects.


Demonstrated written/oral communication and organizational skills.


Interest in pursuing a research career in psychology or a related-field.

Monthly Salary:  $2764-2890/month ($33,168-34,680/year, Step A-Step C). Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.   

Work Location and Schedule: 

The position is primarily on-campus. Limited remote work will be considered on an occasional basis during the training period.
