Position Summary
The position will provide in-depth statistical expertise to Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty, trainees, and staff at all levels of research, including consultation regarding optimal design of basic and translational science projects, clinical trials and epidemiological studies, proper use of statistical methodologies, case report form design, database structure, innovative data analysis, and preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and grant proposals.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs data analysis and/or data management using the latest and best methodologies implemented in statistical packages (SAS, Stata, R), including generation of tables and graphs.
  • Organizes and presents research data and bring relevant analyses to the attention of Principal Investigator.
  • Provides statistical and methodological guidance for designing observational studies and randomized clinical trials for projects led by faculty and trainees.
  • May train and/or supervise Statistical Data Analyst level staff.
  • Provides time estimates and progress updates for data requests.
  • Performs other data management duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with clinical research or healthcare data and proficiency with statistical applications such as Stata, R, or SAS.
  • Master's degree in Biostatistics.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with managing REDCap databases.
  • Examples of statistics and analytic skillsets required include: prediction modeling, propensity scoring, time-to-event/survival analyses, multilevel modeling, creation of randomization schema, sample size/power calculations.
  • Sound planning, organization, and implementation skills.
  • Strong attention to accuracy; mature judgment.
  • Skill in techniques for translating complex data into illustrative figures/charts i that is useful for investigators and patient community
  • Effective networking; proficiency with office, data management and reporting computer tools.
  • Curious, creative and self-motivated individual to figure out what data means and how to convey that meaning.


Required Qualifications

Masterâ™s degree in a highly quantitative field such as an MBA or a Masterâ™s in Applied Statistics or relevant discipline and a minimum of five years progressively responsible professional experience involving analytical support for executive decision-making.

Salary Range
$62,200.00 - $112,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
