Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
The research specialist will work with the faculty principal investigator and grant staff to assist with NIH-funded research by conducting assessments on early development in high-risk groups of infants and toddlers with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., fragile X syndrome and autism spectrum disorder) using multiple behavioral, language, and physiological developmental measures. This position also assists in managing data, organizing findings, and preparing reports. Travel across South Carolina and the United States is required.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting research or direct experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong communication skills. Experience conducting research or direct experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Job Duty
Conduct assessments and collect data. Administer developmental and behavioral assessments in a standardized manner to young children at risk for autism or anxiety and typical developing children. A majority of the assessments are conducted within the state of South Carolina and across the United States.
