Position Summary
The Research Specialist will be primarily responsible for technical support in the Ehre laboratory that is affiliated with Marsico Lung Institute. The main responsibilities of the selected candidate will be to maintain in vitro airway cell models and mouse colonies. Sample analyses will consist of RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry. Additional responsibilities will consist of ordering lab reagents, autoclaving, and sample storage. Experience with confocal/electron microscopy and gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9) is a plus. Basic computer skills are required to perform data acquisition and analysis. Proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Image J, and MATLAB would strengthen application. The selected candidate will report directly to Dr. Ehre.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Working knowledge of collecting and handling of human samples, biohazard reagents, and aseptic technique. At least one year of experience in a basic science laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with cell culture, animal breeding, and microscopy.
