Position Summary
This position contributes to the design and delivery of research projects and collaborates with researchers to develop, execute and interpret research projects. Performs simple as well as complex laboratory and data collection and analysis techniques. This Research Specialist position is available in the laboratory of Dr Steven Roth, Department of Anesthesiology. Research projects in the lab examine rodent models of central retinal artery occlusion. In vitro studies use cell lines and primary neural cells prepared from rats or mice. Assays include mRNA isolation and qPCR analysis, biochemical assays to measure cell viability, Western blotting, cytokine assays, immunostaining of cells and tissue sections, quantitation of cell loss, and in vivo experiments on retinal function

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or related field required. Master’s degree in science preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
- Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
