Job Description

The Stigma and HIV-related Health Lab (SHH Lab) under the direction of Angel B Algarin PhD, MPH (Assistant Professor in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced part-time remote Study Coordinator to join our research team. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish/English), have prior experience working in research environments, and a strong interest in sexual health and HIV research. The Study Coordinator will assist in the project start up, monitoring, and retention of 2 NIH funded projects among Latino men who have sex with men. The candidate should also possess excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic.

Essential Duties

  • Work with study participants in both English and Spanish.
  • Contact participants via phone/text to and coordinate their study visits
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendar
  • Create flyers/advertisements that can effectively recruit Latino men who have sex with men
  • Monitor and maintain quantitative data in Qualtrics
  • Attend meetings with research team members to discuss progress and next steps
  • Complete Human Subjects Training
  • Assist in the preparation of materials meant for dissemination
  • Perform other duties may be assigned as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research or archaeological experience; OR, Six years research or archaeological experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

This is a part-time remote contractor position with flexible hours, approximately 20-25 hours per week, with the ability to increase hours based on experience. If desired, opportunities to travel may be available. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. This appointment is funded in whole or part by sources other than general operating funds. Therefore, the appointment is contingent on the availability of that funding and may terminate if that funding is no longer available.
