Description of Work
The Research Specialist will support collaborative research dissemination in the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools and be responsible for supporting the dissemination activities of a multi-year large scale early childhood education research study. The research specialist will work in collaboration with the research team and principal investigators to generate research questions; identify necessary data elements; conduct literature reviews; prepare tables and reference lists; and draft narrative for scholarly dissemination products including research posters, briefs and publishable manuscripts. The research specialist will engage as a collaborator and named author on products.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in educational psychology, special education, psychology, sociology, early childhood education or a related field plus two years of experience in the development of scholarly dissemination products including research manuscripts, briefs, presentations and posters (conduct of literature reviews, development of narrative, and preparation of tables and reference lists.) Experience in interpreting qualitative and quantitative data analyses. Experience working in higher education setting or research firm. Evidence of authorship on scholarly publications in early childhood, education, or related field. Knowledge and skills related to early childhood education settings (PreK to Grade 3) and early childhood development. Knowledge of and experience with applied research and/or evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative data methods. Knowledge and experience in APA formatting (7th edition). Familiarity with Microsoft software, Zoom, and statistical software. Outstanding verbal, interpersonal, planning and writing skills required; the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with research teams; the ability to multitask and perform assigned tasks quickly and accurately. Candidates must possess abilities related to responsibility, dependability, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years’ experience in applied research.
