Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Specialist in Microfabrication for the School of Engineering.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Develops process recipes and SOPs of micro-nanofabrication tools and instruments.
  • Trains and certifies new and existing users.
  • Performs technical duties necessary for the safe and efficient operation of all instruments and tools in the cleanroom.
  • Collaboratse with other researchers to meet and exceed the project’s objectives and goals.
  • Ensures proper operation of equipment and be responsible for the maintenance of certain cleanroom functions, instrumentations and equipment.
  • Plans scientific experiments and develops plan for accomplishment of experiment objectives.
  • Assists PI of NCF and undertake other duties assigned by PI.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • BS degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of significant education and/or relevant experience in operation of the majority of the following instrumentations, processes and techniques:
    • Processes: PECVD, LPCVD, ALD, RIE, Diffusion and Oxidation Furnaces, Spin-on Dopant, E-Beam, Thermal Evaporator, RTA, Sputter, Mask Aligner, Optical Lithography, E-Beam Lithography, Screen Printing of Metal, Dicing and Wire Bonding.
    • Characterization: Ellipsometry, Profilometry, Spectrophotometry, Photoluminescence, Electroluminescence, 4-Point-Probe, Film Metric, Current-Voltage measurement, Series and Shunt resistance analysis, TLM, Capacitance-Voltage measurement, SEM, EDX and SIMS.
    • Wet Chemistry: Processes involving NH3, HCL, HNO3, H2O2, HF, H2SO4, H3PO4, TMAH, Texturing, Isopropanol, Acetone and Methanol.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in micro-nanofabrication and applications.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in fabricating semiconductor devices.
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in engineering is preferred and is an added advantage
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Flexibility in working hours as and when activities and events run outside of normal business hours and out of the office setting.
  • Willing to cooperate and work collaboratively with the team to achieve the department and
  • university objectives.
  • Ability to learn things and develop intellectual and professional skills with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan rigorous experiments, and to respond to rapidly-shifting priorities.
