Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
A highly motivated Research Specialist II, with interest in Neuroscience and Pharmacology, is sought to work on grant-supported projects in the lab of Dr. Dan Foster in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience (PPN) within the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Columbia (SOMC). Candidates will use cutting-edge techniques to study how drugs can regulate brain circuitry with relevance to schizophrenia, OCD, and autism spectrum disorder. Preference will be given to enthusiastic and passionate candidates with strong problem solving skills who have demonstrated an ability to work as part of a team.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in a related field and 1 year related research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience handling rodents and familiarity with coding in MatLab or similar programming language is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience handling rodents iand familiarity with coding in MatLab or similar programming language. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
