Position Summary:

The Research Specialist will join the All of Us research program located at the UAB Huntsville campus. 

Spearheaded by the National Institute of Health, this a national program to accelerate health research and medical breakthroughs, enabling individual prevention, treatment and care for all of us. The overall aim nationally is to enroll 1 million or more volunteers and oversample communities that have been underrepresented in biomedical research to make the program the largest, most diverse resource of its kind. The Research Specialist helps to build one of the largest databases of its kind for health research by collecting and recording data about research participants. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Recruits, schedules, and provides follow-up activities with individuals  
  • Maintains current contact information for all participants  
  • Performs data collection and analysis activities following an event; uses data to gather insight on the effectiveness of marketing and outreach strategies; assists in the identification and resolution of issues  
  • Assists in compiling and editing written reports for IRB approval, contract progress reports, and grant submissions  
  • May assist in compiling, editing, and proofing written reports for IRB approval, contract progress reports, and grant submissions
  • Assists in developing community partnerships to further mission of program 
  • Will perform phlebotomy procedures.

Salary Range: $15.00 - $19.00

LOCATED IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA.

 

Qualifications

 

High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. 

Hard Skills:  recruitment and clinical research experience preferred; knowledge of MS software applications; patient scheduling experience and ability to assist individuals through the enrollment process; Phlebotomist certification or willingness to obtain through UAB

Soft Skills:  strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; effective time management skills; flexibility; ability to work the occasional weekend/evening hour events
