The research specialist will perform targeted and untargeted LC/MS metabolomics assays, analyze data, and generate reports for research investigators. The research specialist will also assist the Director with establishing new metabolomics assays, instrument maintenance, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintain laboratory safety.Job Description
The research specialist will extract metabolites from a variety of biological matrices, perform targeted and untargeted LC/MS metabolomics assays, and carry out data analysis requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, the research scientist will assist the Director with establishing new metabolomics assays, instrument maintenance, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintain laboratory safety.
Position contingent upon funding.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or related discipline with 3-5 years of experience in research or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Working Conditions
Office, Laboratory; Requires extensive safety
Physical Effort
Typically sitting at a desk or table; Occasional lifting 25 lb. or less
