The Research Scientist writes and assists with grant proposal submissions of original research; assists with writing manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals; oversees the preparation of written summaries of research design, procedures, measures, and data analyses; develops and tests hypotheses; contributes to design and executes advanced research experiments; implements new research techniques and methodologies in the laboratory; oversees and trains junior research staff, post-doctoral researchers, undergraduate and graduate students; oversees initial and on-going planning, team support, implementation, controls, tracking, evaluation and reporting for research projects; leads and manages projects, timelines and deliverables of projects; manages multiple constraints of projects, develops data collection and management plans and procedures that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual research project; participates in the development and execution of procedures for data collection and its quality control; makes recommendations and implements solutions for data collection, data analyses and interpretation; leads the development of project databases and data tracking systems; leads troubleshooting processes and identifies solutions for issues that arise during the research process; oversees the preparation of written summaries of research design, procedures, measures, and or data analyses; manages and oversees participant recruitment and quality control processes for research projects; manages project budgets; anticipates and responds to changes in plans as driven by project results or events; contributes to cross-functional efforts; assigns resources and provides support; develops presentations and present material at conferences, to principal investigator, sponsors, etc; Leads team laboratory meetings and department activities; participates in the training of post-doctoral researchers, research assistants, students and technicians within the laboratory; participates in supervision of students; participates in lab administration including project coordination, logistics, and other duties as assigned by the principal investigator


Qualifications
Doctorate (Professional) or equivalent combination of education and experience in Biological Sciences is required; clinical research and/or laboratory experience required; project management experience desired; experience working with diverse groups of professional personnel in a complex, matrix environment is desired.
