Summary of Duties

The laboratory of Loren E. Wold, PhD, FAHA, FCVS at The Ohio State University as part of the College of Nursing and the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute in the College of Medicine is looking for a Research Scientist to aid in their investigation of the impact of environmental exposures on health and disease. The lab is funded by the NIH, the VA and the AHA to investigate how environmental factors such as air pollution and e-cigarettes affect the heart, lungs, and brain. The most state-of-the-art techniques are utilized for rodent physiology, in vivo and in vitro exposure paradigms, molecular biology, and histopathology. Research scientists in the Wold lab will have ample opportunity to publish manuscripts, submit fellowship and training grants, attend conferences, and participate in a thriving academic environment. This position is ready for an immediate start.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree in appropriate biological/health science field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Postdoctoral training of at least two years in a relevant laboratory required. Applicants should have a strong record of publication in cardiovascular-, pulmonary- or neurology-related journals and experience working with mice.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in using statistical tools, reference managers, basic computer skills are desirable. Excellent writing skills are plus. management; excellent interpersonal skills.

Target Salary $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
