Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. with seven years of applied research experience in a related field. A Master's degree and ten years of applied research experience may be substituted for the requirements noted. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EG Salary Minimum $48,421

• Ph. D.  degree

A new Part Time (20 hours/week) Research Scientist is available in the department of Microbiology in the lab of Prof. Yousef Abukwaik.  The research work is focused on interaction of bacterial pathogens with the host cell biology.  Background in Microbiology/biochemistry/cell biology would be preferred. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and organize data collection and analysis activities, coordinate and schedule research activities.
• Supervision and training of postdocs and lab staff.
• Develop data collection procedures and administer policies.
• Prepare written reports and documents pertaining to data management, research methodology and study results.
• Experimental research studies in bacteria-cell biology interaction.
• Conduct research on past literature and monitor current research literature for relevant information.
• Establish, update and validate research methods for lab.
