Summary of Position
The Research Scientist III will both lead and participate in both basic and applied research in the fields of Wildlife Ecology and Global Change Biology. The Scientist will engage with and grow a group of researchers examining interactions and feedbacks among wildlife, climate change, and biogeochemical cycling. They will design and carry out research examining how small mammal species affect terrestrial biogeochemical cycling using a combination of remote sensing, camera traps, and replicated field experiments. They will lead the collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of data, and will author and co-author peer-reviewed publications describing research findings. The Research Scientist will both lead and contribute to externally funded proposals to maintain their position.

At least two years of postdoctoral research experience, strong theoretical background in species range limits, expertise in developing robust and cost effective methods for monitoring wildlife and climate, and a strong analytical background in estimating demographic parameters and modeling species-environmental relationships at local and regional scales.
