Research Scientist - Geophysics

A position is available in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences for a Research Scientist to work on projects investigating the magnetic field, paleomagnetism, and electromagnetic sounding. The candidate will have a Ph.D. in geophysics with a specialization in paleomagnetism, magnetism, electromagnetism, and potential field analysis. The candidate will work on projects acquiring magnetic and electromagnetic data using a drone (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), thus experience with drones is required. Other projects use machine learning and deep learning analysis, so experience in these topics is desirable. Another project uses paleomagnetism of rocks collected by the International Ocean Discovery Program and thus experience with paleomagnetism and IODP is desirable. The position is anticipated to begin on January 1, 2024
