The University of Washington (UW) Astronomy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist Engineer 3. This position will help enable the science goals of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) project. A significant and exciting effort is being undertaken to develop state of the art facilities, both from the hardware and software perspectives.

The successful candidate will be lead the BreakBRDs gas in galaxies study. This includes reducing and analyzing radio data from the GBT, writing up and publishing results in the appropriate journals, as well as proposing for appropriate telescope time. The successful candidate will also take advantage of currently relevant surveys such as HI MaNGA, ALFALFA, and others to better understand the neutral and ionized gas environments of the BreakBRD galaxy sample.
