Research Scientist position in archaeal cell biology at Duke University A Research Scientist position is available in archaeal cell biology in the Schmid lab, Duke University Biology Department. The research objective for this position is to investigate transcription regulatory networks in an archaeal model organism. Administrative lab managerial duties will also be part of the position. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in experimental and/or computational microbiology, with training in genetics, functional genomics, and/or gene regulatory network inference. Knowledge of microbial physiology is a plus. The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbial metabolism and biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology and familiarity with statistics and/or mathematical modeling. Clear evidence of past research productivity in the form of high impact publications is required, and strong scientific and interpersonal communication skills are expected.
