The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences has an opening for a Research Scientist 2 position.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated scientist to join the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences as a Research Scientist 2 in Dr. Erica Fuhrmeister’s research group. The Fuhrmeister Lab uses molecular methods to understand the role of environmental reservoirs in the transmission of pathogens and antibiotic resistance. We are committed to creating an inclusive research space and invite members of underrepresented groups in the sciences to apply.

The researcher will support the development of novel metagenomic sequencing methods to characterize pathogen and antibiotic resistance genes. The candidate will contribute to efforts for wastewater epidemiology, antibiotic resistance mitigation in low-and middle-income settings, and biotechnology development.
