Position Summary:
The Research Project Manager will work on a grant funded by the National Institutes of Health focused on studying strategies for improving adoption of guidelines for preventing cardiovascular disease in primary care practices in New York City. The grant is led by Dr. Donna Shelley of the Department of Public Health Policy and Management in the NYU School of Global Public Health. The study is being conducted in partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH).

The Research Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the research trial including overseeing protocol development, data collection, data analysis and management and ensuring the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, research team and the sponsor. The Research Program Manager will liaison with the DOHMH to support the accurate delivery of the intervention. A successful applicant will be able to work independently with diverse colleagues and staff at all levels, and comfortable in the academic medical center environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and facilitate weekly research team meetings. Distribute meeting agendas and materials and distribute meeting notes.
  • Provide oversite on preparation of materials, submissions, and renewals to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators on the development of interview protocols, survey instruments and data collection procedures.
  • Collaborate with the PIs and the team of researchers to support data analyses.
  • Conduct statistical analyses with support of the study Biostatistician, according to study design and interpret data output through various mediums.
  • Update and maintain databases, create codebooks, and facilitate regular data checking and quality assurance.
  • Read, interpret, and compile relevant scientific literature and data synthesis.
  • Participate in the development of publications and conference presentations, including conducting literature reviews and drafting methods and statistical results and creating tables and other data visualizations.
  • Prepare standard progress reports for research sponsor.
  • Oversee planning of additional study activities as assigned
  • Liaison with DOHMH and other study investigators.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Experience in data management, and quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Experience working on research projects, including IRB submissions and updates.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with management, and work and communicate effectively with both internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.

  • Experience using R
