Position Summary/Description:


The Project Manager of Workforce Development is responsible for managing dynamic multi-component translational science initiatives focused on developing a multidisciplinary translational science workforce and providing overall day-to-day project management across multiple projects. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for a broad range of duties related to developing, organizing, executing, and monitoring the implementation and ongoing operations and outcomes of NC TraCS-supported projects. The PM will manage day-to-day operations of projects with considerable independence, especially in the areas of decision-making, problem-solving, and milestone management. This position is critical to developing and managing effective communication across the team and with the leadership at NC TraCS, faculty at UNC, and the funding agency. The PM will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including project team members, external stakeholders, coordinators, research assistants, and project leads, to ensure maximum performance and successful achievement of milestones and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, ensuring the identification of schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans.
* Manage internal and external resources effectively to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
* Analyze project status regularly and proactively revise the scope, schedule, or budget, if necessary, to ensure project requirements can be met.
* Establish and develop strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day project status updates and changes.
* Collect, compile, and share updates on project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure quality and continuity of reports.
* Prepare key reports, ensuring they are submitted complete and on time.
* Design and disseminate innovative training and career development programs for a diverse, expert, multidisciplinary translational research workforce at all professional levels, prepared to meet the challenges of current and future health care crises.
* Collaborate closely with the NC TraCS Evaluator to develop tools and measures to assess project progress and outcomes.
* Collaborate with the national CTSA consortium to develop broad standards and norms for training the translational science workforce.

Education and Experience:


Experience working with NIH-funded researchers is preferred.
