JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Geriatric Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is hiring a Research Project Manager. The person in this role will lead research related efforts for the RISE grant, working with the RISE Data Scientist to create surveys and tracking tools for the quality improvement, educational and skills programs and infection control response planning, emergency response and occupational health programs. The person in this role will support the generation of quarterly reports and other requested reports, in partnership with the Data Scientist. The intended goal will be to utilize this data to identify highly beneficial interventions that positively impact workforce development and resiliency through the various activities outlines in this application, to create scholarly work for dissemination. As part of the Division of Geriatric Medicine, the candidate will also support faculty research and program activities to advance the research mission in the division. This includes IRB proposal creation and submission, related work in the planning of a research study, oversight of the research technologist and support in writing and submitting scholarly work for conferences and publications.

  • Support RISE related survey and data collection tool creation and deployment to align with required PA DOH reporting requirements as well as research questions to advance the publication of scholarly work related to the RISE grant
  • Coordinate various datasets with relevant research questions to advance dissemination of scholarly work. Lead IRB study proposals, study development, preparation, and submissions.
  • Lead research projects in the Division of Geriatric Medicine in collaboration with Geriatric Medicine faculty and staff including study development, IRB submissions, paper/poster preparation, and submissions.
  • Co-lead new grant submissions in partnership with PI, including compiling background data/content, preparation of the grant submission and related support for submission.

Typical Education & Experience

4+ years related experience

Master's Degree or higher

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience

2+ years leading a research team. Track record of successfully supporting grant submissions, 10+ publications (does not have to be  primary author), independence managing IRB submissions, competent in basic REDCAP functions, advanced skill in REDCAP is a plus. Prior work in aging research is desired but not required. 

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
