JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


The Penn State College of Medicine, Office of the Vice Dean for Research, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Research Project Manager to oversee and manage a large, complex strategic initiative. 
  


Working with the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, this position will lead an effort to improve operations and enhance Penn State Cancer Institute (PSCI) clinical research navigation, examining both PSCI operations and the various connection points with clinical cancer care and the university’s research infrastructure. This includes overseeing working groups and advising on project deliverables and timelines, regulatory and data management plans, and financial administration; and serving as the project point of contact with faculty, staff, and leadership 


 


Specifically, this position will ensure that project scope, deliverables, and milestones are achieved including: 


  • Mapping and optimizing clinical trial subject flow and clinical trial study workflows from initiation to completion, ensuring agreement and centralized documentation. 

  • Enhancing standardized regulatory processes that focus on changes of personnel, IRB updates, risk updates, and audit reviews to track compliance across all studies. 

  • Integrating the IT infrastructure supporting the Clinical Trials Office at PSCI. 

  • Reviewing and updating staffing policies, KPIs, and onboarding and continuous training programs to enable growth. 

  • Ensuring strategic stakeholder alignment on PSCI’s clinical trial strategy, catchment area, and targeted disease states.

Minimum Education and Experience: 


  • 6+ years related experience. 

  • Master’s degree or higher 

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience  

  • Optional: Previous experience with NCI designated cancer center 


 


 


This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:  

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
