Position Summary
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a Research Project Coordinator. This is a full-time 1.00 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

The primary mission of the College of Pharmacy is to advance societal health through leadership in pharmacy education, research, community engagement, and improved patient care.
This position will primarily support a multi-site research project to build a nursing home network to respond to public health emergencies. Study investigators will then use that network to study various aspects of coronavirus disease among nursing home residents and staff. Oregon State University is one of 6 academic sites participating in this study which is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This position requires outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of the conduct of research studies of human health outcomes.

Position Duties
80% – Research project management of a large epidemiologic study in nursing homes. This includes training, oversight, and coordination of regulatory activities (e.g., IRB protocols), study participant enrollment, including obtaining informed consent, and data and specimen collection by research staff. Position will also entail planning, scheduling, coordinating, attending, and monitoring research team meetings and site visits and other general research project management activities as they arise.
20% – Support of other research studies as time allows.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the biological or applied sciences or related field.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of health care/research data.

  • Understanding and knowledge of scientific/medical terminology and research theory.

  • Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in public health, biostatistics/epidemiology, or related field.

  • Experience working in a healthcare system or with health care-based research/data (e.g., electronic health record data).

  • Experience in project coordination including oversight of research staff.

  • Work experience in research setting, data management or statistical analysis.

  • Authorship/co-authorship on research publications.

  • Experience with IRB protocol submissions, modifications, and continuing reviews.

  • Experience with REDCap, SAS, R, Stata.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Work will be on-campus in Portland in the College of Pharmacy’s space in the RLSB on the OHSU campus with potential for hybrid remote/in-person work schedule as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
Occasional travel between sites will be required. Initial study sites are in the Portland Metro area.
