Position Summary:
 
Under the general supervision of the faculty Principal Investigator Dr. Matthew Landry, the SRA will play a crucial role in both administrative and research functions, ensuring the smooth operation of nutrition and public health-focused clinical studies. The SRA will help with coordinating and conducting research studies (e.g., designing and implementing experiments, developing research protocols, participant recruitment, literature reviews, collecting and processing behavioral data, and assisting with manuscript preparation) and general research group administration (e.g., maintenance of research study websites, tracking expenses, reimbursements, and contracts, and planning research group events and meetings). Dr. Landry’s research group uses novel and rigorous public health approaches to conduct innovative, trans-disciplinary research and develop interventions aimed at promoting food and nutrition security and preserving cardiovascular health, particularly in low resource settings and/or with communities experiencing health inequalities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make creative contributions to research and thus, to co-author academic papers. Expected compensation for this role, within the full salary range, is $53,536-$63,871.

Required:
 
  • 1-3 years of related work experience with BA/BS in a health-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow up. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with study participants, researchers and non-researchers. 
  • Ability to work professionally and as part of a team, keeping track of any ongoing or new problems or requests. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily and effectively with people within and outside the University, including both strong written and verbal communications. 
  • Ability to use an iPhone, iPad, personal computer, computer software programs at the level of sophistication required for general office work. 
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet computer software. 
  • Proficient writing skills to prepare/compose/review a variety of materials with accuracy and completeness.

 
Preferred:
 
  • Previous experience in University research setting and/or health promotion program preferred. 
  • MPH or equivalent masters’ degree preferred. 
  • Data analysis skills preferred (quantitative and/or qualitative).
