Position Summary:


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Department of Psychology within the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Collects, sorts, processes samples, performs preliminary analysis, and analyzes data.
  • Sets up internal bioinformatics analysis pipelines, performs preliminary bioinformatics analysis, and analyzes high-throughput sequencing data.
  • Conducts literature review searches to stay up-to-date regarding analysis methods and research topics.
  • Interacts with internal and external collaborators to drive research project forward.
  • Trains interns and undergraduate students in basic bioinformatics techniques.
  • Completes research projects under direct supervision of Dr. Yang. Work is usually reviewed upon completion.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, statistics, mathematics or computer science, with relevant research experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics or computational biology.
