Research Program Planner

The Center for Undergraduate Research & Scholarship (CURAS) is looking to hire a Research Program Planner to manage the research & scholarship initiatives at Creighton University (with particular attention to undergraduate initiatives), and this person will report to the Associate Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship (AVPR&S).

 

At Creighton, we’re conducting research that moves big ideas forward, and our undergraduate students play a hands-on role. In this role you will manage undergraduate student initiatives that drive research projects and discover undergraduate research and scholarship opportunities that connect faculty and students together.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist students seeking undergraduate research opportunities, assist faculty interested in involving undergraduate students in their research, facilitate student/faculty mentor connections
  • Maintain the CURAS website; develop and distribute publicity and informational materials, program announcements and applications.
  • Communicate regularly with the Assistant Director to publicize upcoming Scholarship/Fellowship due dates/informational sessions
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and publicize CURAS events & programming; distribute promotional materials, facilitate open houses, and attend Admissions events
  • Serve on the organizing committee for University Research Week/Undergraduate Research Week.
  • Assist with administration of the Student Research Ambassadors Program.
  • Facilitate Research & Scholarship funding award announcements for all faculty and undergraduate research student programs.
  • Manage Faculty and Student funding opportunities (in coordination with the AVPR&S and CURAS Director).
  • Assist with student preparation for events like Big East or Posters on the Hill (in collaboration with the Director/Assistant Director).
  • Plan and oversee all research budget expenditures from the CURAS/AVPR&S accounts and create financial reports for the AVPR&S/CURAS Director and Assistant Director.
  • Work with AVPR&S/CURAS Director and Assistant Director/University CURAS Committee to create and implement assessment measures as well as gather and analyze assessment data.
  • Prepare annual reports on research; provide data to Institutional Research and Grants Administration annually/as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Understanding of the undergraduate research process is essential.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and web content management.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools/collection of online data.
  • Understanding of experiential learning is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of undergraduate research is essential.
  • Experience in college student advisement, undergraduate research and faculty interaction is preferred.
