The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a Research Program Assistant II to support the time limited CDC-TAA Center of Excellence Community Engagement Grant, which is administratively overseen by the Johns Hopkins University Center for OCD, Anxiety, and Related Disorders (Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry). Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the RPA II will be responsible for assisting the PI and research team with project related activities (e.g., data collection, website development).


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with IRB submission as needed.
  • Assist with survey development and administration via Qualtrics, and monitor survey completion.
  • Perform weekly data checking and quality assurance according to study team protocol.
  • Prepare preliminary reports based on survey data for review by the PI and research team.
  • Assist the PI and research team with the development of didactic multi-media materials for primary care providers on the topic of Tourette Syndrome (TS).
  • Attendance of study team meetings.
  • Assist in other project related activities (e.g., collaborations with PCP networks and affiliated research teams).
  • Assist with administrative duties as requested by the PIs, including preparation for abstract, paper, and poster submissions.
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the PI.
  • Ability to think critically and to solve problems that arise related to study protocols.
  • Ability to be flexible in work conditions and function well in a team setting.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Interest in mental health, including anxiety, TS and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to interact with faculty and staff on research teams.
  • Attention to detail. Good proofreading skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to deal effectively within and outside the department.
  • Skilled in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Qualtrics, and REDCap.
  • Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in an environment that requires balancing multiple assignments.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Two years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four-year Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, and/or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with TS and related neuropsychiatric conditions.

Starting Salary Range: Min $15.50 - Max $26.00 HRLY ($33,150 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
