Job Summary
The preferred start date is July 1, 2022. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis and will be given full consideration.
Responsibilities
- Collects data, conducts complex statistical analysis (Stata, R, and Python), writes statistical software programs, and organizes the presentation of results, as instructed by Professor Costello.
- Sometimes an open-ended question or problem will be posed. It will be the responsibility of the RP to think independently and creatively on how to solve the problem (e.g., search the web for an existing database; call businesses to ask for data; design a web-crawling algorithm; etc.). Creative problem solving skills are a must.
- Creates charts, tables, and descriptive text for presentations.
- Maintains databases, reviews prior literature, and performs preliminary research.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in any quantitative field.
- Courses in econometrics and statistics.
Experience:
- At least one year of research experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Experience with statistical analysis and database organization.
- Fluency in statistical software such as Stata, R, and Python.
- Knowledge of research techniques and methods.

- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work independently as well as with others and to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent and professional verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.
