The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology studies how biomolecules function and interact to drive the complex, diverse, and adaptive behaviors of living systems. Our focus is on biological mechanism at the atomic level. We are pioneers in all areas of biophysics, structural biology, and protein engineering and design.


Job Summary
 

The position independently designs and executes experiments, performing the data analysis, and contributes to the publishing of results from research projects and aiding in the preparation of grant applications. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings. The candidate will also facilitate the training of junior research staff and trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project.

  • With a moderate level of direction, manages lab and/or research-related duties and tasks.

  • Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.

  • Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.

  • Reviews laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage complex data sets for research.

  • Leads the contributions to scientific writing and publications, including protocols and grants.

  • Assists with programming, set up and performing experiments; interacting with PhD and Master students.

  • Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field.

  • Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Contributes to facilitating and promoting a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.

  • Trains new laboratory personnel.

  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.
