Position Summary
There are research opportunities in the laboratory of Dr. Randall Bateman’s lab investigating the causes, future diagnosis and treatments of Alzheimer’s disease utilizing a wide variety of assays and techniques from basic applications, such as quantitative measurement of stable-isotope labeled peptides and clinical translational studies in diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease. Work in the lab includes running experiments and assays; preparing reagents and samples at the bench; using automated equipment; prepping and running samples for mass spectrometry analysis; and potentially analyzing data and preparing presentations, etc.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in chemistry is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with analytical chemistry or GLP.
  • Experience with immunoprecipitation, automated bench work and proven bench lab skills.
  • Experience with LC-MS.
  • Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
  • Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.


Required Qualifications

Candidates with prior experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics and/or cell biology with at least a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
