Essential Functions The individual will manage a research program that explores molecular mechanisms of virus-host interactions using in vitro and in vivo models of infection. The Research Manager will make strategic decisions, draft policies and procedures for the lab, and create and monitor grant budgets. Primary responsibilities include managing multiple research projects, purchasing inventory, supervising and training undergraduate students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting scientists, managing daily laboratory operations, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance and documentation, and maintaining laboratory equipment. In addition, this individual will engage in virology research using cellular and molecular techniques and animal infections.
Physical Effort The Research Manager must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
