Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a Research Logistics Manager (RLM) supporting the clinical research efforts of PI Dr. Grace Aldrovandi, Professor and Division Chief of the Division of Infectious Disease in the UCLA Dept of Pediatrics, Geffen School of Medicine.  Research is focused in the areas of AIDS clinical trials and other clinical research including therapy and prevention trials.  New large scale clinical and translational projects are frequently added to the portfolio with current ongoing research efforts including the federally funded IMPAACT Network Laboratory Center an international clinical trials network whose mission it is to significantly decrease HIV and HIV associated infections and decrease mortality and morbidity among infants, children and pregnant/postpartum women and the R01 funded “Maturation, Infectibility, and Trauma(MIT) Contributes to HIV Susceptibility in Adolescents” project.

Under minimal supervision, you will lead monitoring and logistics for a number of international collaborative clinical research projects in the PIs portfolio simultaneously. This position requires significant investment in both maintaining current  and cultivating new  operational and organizational relationships with UCLA faculty, staff, students and support offices and external research partners, teams of consultants and subcontractors, and other national and international leaders in conducting various aspects of this work. You will advise the PI on development of internal and external personnel and non-personnel resources and infrastructure, anticipate needs and troubleshoot issues and offers strategic decision input.  You will use proprietary tracking software and databases to perform data entry, quality control reviews, filing and retrieval of records for compliance review, performs data analysis and reporting generation including burn rates on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
